About the Event

I well remember Sri Yukteswar’s advice when I went to him for training. He said: ‘Meditate with good companions. They will help you to churn the butter of Self-realization from the milk of your mind. Milk mixes with the waters of worldly delusion and cannot float above them. Butter readily floats on those treacherous waters.’

— Paramahansa Yogananda

A six-hour online meditation was held in honour of Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri, to commemorate the special day of his Avirbhav Divas (Wednesday, May 10) which was led by YSS sannyasis in English. It began with Energization Exercises, followed by inspirational readings, and periods of chanting and meditation. It concluded with the performance of Paramahansa Yogananda’s Healing Technique and a closing prayer.

The schedule was as under:

  • Session I: 9:40 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Break: 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Session II: 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This special long meditation, held in honour of Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri, helped us to attune our consciousness with our paramguru to commemorate the special day of his Avirbhav Divas (Wednesday, May 10).

On this auspicious occasion, it has been a tradition to pay homage to Swami Sri Yukteswar — expressing our gratitude for his spiritual legacy of Kriya Yoga teachings. Your valuable offering will be used to promote and disseminate the soul-liberating teachings of our blessed Gurudeva.
