It is Mahavatar Babaji who revived in this age the lost scientific meditation technique of Kriya Yoga….Shortly before Paramahansa Yogananda left for America in 1920, Mahavatar Babaji came to Yoganandaji’s home in Calcutta, where the young monk sat deeply praying for divine assurance regarding the mission he was about to undertake. Babaji said to him: “Follow the behest of your guru and go to America. Fear not; you shall be protected. You are the one I have chosen to spread the message of Kriya Yoga in the West.”
This meeting of Mahavatar Babaji with Gurudeva Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda is commemorated as Mahavatar Babaji Smriti Divas on July 25 every year.
On this occasion, a two-day programme was held on July 24 and 25, 2023 at YSS Dwarahat Ashram. A Yatra to Babaji’s cave was organized on July 25, and the procession started from the ashram. A meditation, bhajan session, and bhandara was organized at the cave.
A special evening meditation was conducted at the ashram.
