YSS Centenary Celebrations – Dakshineswar

The Centenary celebrations of  Yogoda Satsanga Society and 124th Janmotsav celebrations of Gurudev Paramahansa Yogananda, at Dakshineswar ashram have started from 2nd  January 2017. These will continue for next 3 weeks and include functions at kendras and mandalis around Bengal.

YSS Dakshineswar ashram had programmes from 2nd – 5th January including technique review classes, meditations, bhajans, Kriya Diksha initiation, Higher Kriya initiations, Prabhat Feri, Bhandara and a special public event.

The General Secretaries of two reputed spiritual organisations located in Dakshineswar – Mahamilan Math of Sitaramdas Omkarnathji & Sarada Math graced the occasion and dwelt on the Guru-Disciple relationship, stressing on the quality of surrender. Swami Suddhanandaji shared stories from Guruji’s life. More than 4000 people took Prasad in the Bhandara.

On the 7th January Prabhat Feri was organised at Garpar Kendra. Around 250 devotees participated in the procession which went around to all the surrounding major streets.  Later in the morning a public programme was organised at Ram Mohan Roy Hall. It was packed to capacity as Swami Suddhananda and Swami Nigamananda addressed the gathering.

The celebrations at Serampore kendra were held on the 7th and 8th of January. There was a cultural show by the Sunday school children, meditation, bhajans, Prabhat Feri, Satsangas and Prasad packet distribution.

All the devotees tangibly felt great joy and blessings of the Gurus at all the events.
