Release of the Telugu Translation of YSS Lessons

We are very pleased to announce that the new edition of the Yogoda Satsanga Lessons is now available in Telugu, and enrolment is open!

On December 3, 2022, the Telugu translation of the new edition of the Yogoda Satsanga Lessons was released by YSS monastics at a special function in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. Around 600 people attended this event and many hundreds joined via a Livestream from all over the world.

The programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Swamis Smaranananda and Madhavananda, and Brahmacharis Sarat and Kedarananda. Later, Brahmachari Sarat gave a slide-show introduction to Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS), its Founder and Gurudeva Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, and the YSS Gurus. He expressed joy that the YSS Lessons were being released on the occasion of Gita Jayanti and highlighted the significance of Gurudeva’s Kriya Yoga teachings which are hidden in the Bhagavad Gita.

Swami Smaranananda gave an inspiring talk on the subject “Happy and Successful Life through Kriya Yoga Meditation.” He elaborated on the concepts of God as “Sat-Chit-Ananda” and “Aham Brahmasmi”, and stressed that each individual is inherently joyous because he is a part of God; and the method of bringing out that joy is to seek it inside oneself through yoga meditation.

Swami Madhavananda then performed aarti which was followed by the release of the Telugu Lessons by YSS monastics to the joyous applause, appreciation, and gratitude of all the devotees attending the event from the venue and online.

Afterwards, Swami Madhavananda read out the message from YSS/SRF President Sri Sri Swami Chidananda Giri. Through the letter Swami Chidanandaji sent his blessings and expressed his appreciation for all those who have devotedly served to bring the YSS Lessons in Telugu. He said, “how joyous Guruji must be on this day when through the Telugu translation of the Lessons his soul-liberating teaching will now become available to many more devotees across India.”

Later, Brahmachari Kedarananda thanked the team of translators and collaborators from all the departments across YSS/SRF who helped bring out the Telugu version of the YSS Lessons, the YSS website and the SRF/YSS App. Through a slide show and a short video presentation he demonstrated the process of online lessons registration and highlighted the features of the Lessons App.

Later, many attendees enrolled for the Telugu Lessons, and many purchased YSS literature in Telugu at the venue. The new Lessons students were taught the principles of Energization Exercises and the Hong-Sau Technique of Concentration.
