Flood Relief — Odisha

Recent floods in Odisha during August affected about 1.5 lakh people from 201 villages under 55 Gram-panchayats in Puri district. Many areas including Gopa, Nimapara, Delang, Kanas, Astarang, Pipili, and Puri Sadar continued to remain inundated with floodwater for more than a week. Residents were taking refuge on roads and river embankments without any supply of electricity.

Devotees of Yogoda Satsanga Dhyana Kendras at Bhubaneswar and Puri with help from local school teachers and administration carried out distribution of 716 solar lamps to the flood-affected residents of Gopa and Nimapara Blocks of Puri District. The distribution was carried out door-to-door in three phases – on August 30, September 1, and September 4.

All the participants of this relief activity expressed their gratitude to YSS, for giving an opportunity to serve in this noble endeavour.
