Giving love to all, feeling the love of God, seeing His presence in everyone, and having but one desire — for His constant presence in the temple of your consciousness — that is the way to live in this world.

Dear Divine Atman,

To all of you, our beloved Gurudeva’s spiritual family, we extend a loving invitation to join us for the Sadhana Sangams to be held in the year 2020. To facilitate participation of a greater number of devotees, we will be organizing several Sadhana Sangams in 2020 at five different locations, instead of conducting just two annual Sharad Sangams at YSS Ranchi Ashram.

These Sangams will be held at YSS Ashrams in Ranchi, Noida, and Dakshineswar; Paramahansa Yogananda Sadhanalaya in Igatpuri; and Anand Shikhar Sadhanalaya in Shimla. These Sangams will be spread throughout the year. Devotees may choose to attend a Sangam at a time and location that is convenient for them. However, a devotee may attend only ONE Sadhana Sangam during the year 2020.

Since these Sadhana Sangams will replace the two Sharad Sangams conducted at Ranchi, there will be no Sharad Sangams in the year 2020. (Please refer to our announcement on our website: www.yssi.org/ss2020.)
Please note that only YSS/SRF devotees may attend these programmes. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

As the programme schedule will be hectic, and the accommodation arrangements simple, we request devotees with fragile health or special needs to not apply.

The registration procedure for  YSS devotees is mentioned below.

SRF Members are requested to register by following the instructions provided here  – yssi.org/srfss20

The main purpose of Sadhana Sangams is to provide a spiritual opportunity to Yogoda devotees where they can come together, dive deep in their sadhana, and then return to their homes spiritually recharged, fully ready to face the challenges of the world with their hearts and minds anchored in God.

Guruji said:  “With the beginning of the New Year, let us with concentrated resolve and spiritual determination enter into a new era of our lives.”

Our love reaches out to you and your dear ones, and we pray that God’s blessings in this new year may bring to fruition the highest aspirations of your souls.

In divine friendship,
YOGODA SATSANGA SOCIETY OF INDIA

About Sadhana Sangams

Similar to Sharad Sangams, these programmes will provide YSS devotees an opportunity for spiritual rejuvenation, and for improving their understanding and practice of Gurudeva’s teachings and meditation techniques. The main difference between the two is the number of participants. While more than 1,800 devotees would attend each Sharad Sangam in the past, the participation in each Sadhana Sangam will be limited to at most a few hundred.

This will enable us to provide more spacious accommodation to each participant, with a smaller number of devotees per room. It will also eliminate many problems experienced by devotees in Sharad Sangams, such as long queues, overcrowding of the dining pandal and inadequate seating space in the auditorium. Devotees will also be better able to enjoy the pristine environment and the beautiful gardens of our ashrams. As the number of devotees attending each programme will be small, there will be a greater opportunity for each devotee to receive personal spiritual counselling and guidance from monastics.

The schedule of the Sadhana Sangams will include all the activities that made Sharad Sangams so attractive and spiritually rewarding, such as daily group meditations led by sannyasis, classes on meditation techniques, Satsangas, Cosmic Chant sessions, and a video show. The programmes will also include livestreaming of Satsangas by senior YSS sannyasis from one location to all other locations so that all participants benefit from them. The schedule will provide opportunities for personal spiritual counselling with the sannyasis, and also a time for rest and relaxation.

Sadhana Sangams will be conducted every month starting from March until December in 2020, except for the month of June.  Please refer the Sadhana Sangam calendar above for details.

All Kriyabans attending those Sangams will have the opportunity to attend the Kriya Yoga diksha ceremony along with the new devotees receiving Kriya Yoga diksha.

Eligibility For Receiving Kriya Yoga

Eligibility for receiving Kriya Yoga diksha at any of these places is dependent upon submission of satisfactory answers to the questionnaire enclosed with Lessons. You must also submit the signed Kriya Yoga Pledge of devotion and loyalty to our line of Gurus and the Yogoda Satsanga path.  If you wish to apply for Kriya Yoga, and have not yet sent your answers to the questionnaire, they may be submitted at the location where you would be attending the programmes, to be checked by the sannyasis. If you have already sent these to YSS Ranchi ashram and received approval for Kriya Yoga in writing, please take that letter of approval with you for registering to the location.  As you will note in the questionnaire, to be eligible for receiving Kriya Yoga, the devotee must have been regularly practising the first three basic Yogoda techniques for several months.

All who wish to receive Kriya Yoga diksha at the ceremony, including those who have received the Kriya Yoga Lessons but not participated in a ceremony; and also those Kriyabans who have received formal diksha but wish to attend the ceremony will need to register at the concerned location at least a day in advance of the diksha, and bring the required admittance card to the ceremony. Please bring and show your Kriyaban Identification Card when registering yourself for Kriya diksha and when attending the review.

Volunteers

As always, devotee-volunteers will be needed to serve in different areas, such as registration desk, accommodation, audio-visuals, dining, sanitation, ushering, etc. In some of these areas a few volunteers will be required one or two days before the function starts. If you would like to volunteer, please indicate in the Registration Form accordingly.
