On Friday, December 17, 2010, the body of our beloved Sri Daya Mata was interred in a crypt at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park in Glendale.

Members of the YSS and SRF Board of Directors and other senior monks and nuns participated in a brief but sacred ceremony at the crypt in observance of the occasion.

Daya Mata’s crypt is very near to that of our Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda. Visitors can locate it by referring to the directions and diagram on pages 28–29 of the SRF Visitor’s Directory.

Here are the directions for finding it:

Proceed as if going to the crypt of Paramahansa Yogananda: Entering Holly Terrace, walk down the Corridor of the Covenant. Turn right at the second hall, the Corridor of Reverence. At its end is a statue of St. George. Follow the jog in the hallway, first to the left, then to the right. Proceed down the Corridor of the Madonna, past the Sanctuary of Golden Slumber where Paramahansaji’s crypt is located. Go all the way to the end of the hall. Sri Daya Mata’s crypt is on the left side (same side of the hall as the alcove where Paramahansa Yogananda’s crypt is) — just before the doorway leading outside. It is the fourth crypt from the bottom, and there are fresh floral bouquets marking it.

(Please note: Devotees are sometimes directed by Forest Lawn staff to enter the Mausoleum by another entrance; in this case please follow their directions.)

Devotees will be interested to note that on the bench at the end of the hall, just opposite Daya Mataji’s crypt, is a quotation from our Guru, lovingly placed by an anonymous donor.

Jai Guru, Jai Ma!
